Leading your Former Peers

A Leadership Thought! Becoming a leader of former peers. Do these 4 things: 1. Be transparent, honest and vulnerable with your team about your excitement but reservations with your new leadership role. 2. Tell them you will be their champion since you understand their jobs but that you must balance your loyalty between them and the company. 3. Take Charge! Soft-step at first gathering your team often to seek feedback and suggestions but start giving guidance and direction. 4. Counsel/mentor your people. Read chapter 8 of my book to learn how to overcome fear and effectively counsel your people. Make it Personal!!
